In considering high-quality carbon credits, buyers should prioritize projects that not only addressclimate change mitigation but also align with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This factsheetoffers additional guidance and due diligence questions for projects aligned with SDG 5 (genderequality and women’s empowerment), which are integral to achieving all goals in the 2030 SustainableDevelopment Agenda.
The document developed by WOCAN, provides buyers with criteria for ensuring their carbon credit purchases do no harm and have a positive contribution towards gender equality and women’s empowerment, complete with due diligence questions and example answers for buyers.
