Become an Approved W+ Standard Validation and Verification Body (VVB)
Overview
The W+ Standard ensures that projects advancing women’s empowerment are rigorously assessed for their impact. Validation and Verification Bodies (VVBs) play a crucial role in this process by ensuring project compliance with the W+ Standard.
Organizations interested in becoming an approved W+ Standard VVB must demonstrate expertise in gender-sensitive evaluation, social and environmental auditing, and relevant sector-specific competencies.

Application Process
To apply for W+ Standard VVB approval, follow these steps:
Step 1: Review Eligibility Criteria
Prospective VVBs must meet the following requirements:
- Completing the W+ Standard online course
- Expertise in gender analysis and women’s empowerment projects
- Proven experience in social and environmental auditing
- Demonstrated sector-specific knowledge (e.g., climate, energy, agriculture, etc.)
- Adherence to W+ Standard values and principles
- Maintain appropriate insurance coverage or financial safeguards
Step 2: Complete the VVB Application Form
Download and fill out the W+ Standard Validation/Verification Body (VVB) Application Form Link]. Ensure that all required fields are completed and supporting documentation is included.
Step 3: Submit Your Application
Send the completed application form and supporting documents to coordinator@wplus.org.
Step 4: Application Review and Approval
The W+ Standard team will review your application based on qualifications, experience, and compliance with the W+ Standard. This process includes:
✅ Initial completeness check
✅ Review by the Verifier Approval Committee of the W+ Advisory Council
✅ Possible follow-up for additional information or clarification
Upon approval, VVBs will receive a certificate of recognition and be listed as an approved W+ Standard Verification Body.
