W+ Team Visited Wildlife Works Project in Kenya
Barun Gurung, Daniele Ramiaramanana and Lara Dominguez visited the Willife Works’ Kasigau Corridor REDD+ Project in Kenya to apply the W+ Standard. Wildlife Works will be one of the first project developers to apply the W+ label to the issuance of VCUs. The project will measure benefits to women through the following indicators: increased income & assets, enhanced agricultural skills, increased discretionary time, and improved health. Ultimately, the project aspires to include all women in the project area as beneficiaries (approximately 50,000 individuals). Thus, the number of women that the project impacts is expected to continue to grow year-to-year.
